Radnor, PA, July 7, 2015 – With the culmination of our Innovator Program and the July launch of the Moneyball Special, it’s been an exciting summer so far. As Co-Founder and CEO, I feel it is important to give periodic updates on new OnLink platform developments, relevant industry issues, our customer values and success stories. One important component of the OnLink Platform is our industry partnerships, so I also plan to highlight the unique benefits of each of these strategic partners in the coming months.
We have partnered with leading hardware and software providers in the golf industry, focusing on integrating products that have already proven significant value to golf course management. Our system integration partners allow for a comprehensive management platform right at your fingertips. The first OnLink Ready Partner I’ll be highlighting is a core component of our water management platform: Motor Controls, Inc. (MCI).
MCI was founded in 1980 and is now one of the nation’s largest manufactures of control systems as well as complete packaged pumping systems. In 2011, MCI took up the passion for the global Golf Course Management markets and brought a new focus on quality and sustainability with the Endurance Pump Station line. MCI is invested in the Golf Course Management Industry with seasoned staffing, specialized manufacturing equipment and a commitment in fulfilling their customer’s needs.
MCI seeks to combine the best engineers with the best products to give customers the best experience. Their products are designed for efficiency, effectiveness and profitability. Seems like a winning ticket for their customer base!
“MCI is excited to join the OnLink platform and provide our advanced technology with OnLink’s information management modules, in order to facilitate a more efficient water, agronomic and playing conditions course operation,” said John Murtaugh, MCI Director of Packaged Systems who has been at the company for 27 years. “MCI’s core business since 1980 revolves around advanced controls, which made for a perfect fit with OnLink. We simply listen to our customers as they seek to manage more efficiently.”
Some of the examples leading to greater efficiencies include their best-in-class technology comprised of alarm notifications, automatic emails with monthly flow reports, maintenance notifications via email and a maintenance light with easy/instant access from any mobile device.
“The fact that we are a private company with our owners working in the office every day allows MCI to be quick with development and decisions,” said Murtaugh, “Our people make us who we are. We have the most seasoned team in the industry, most with over 20 years serving the Golf Course Pump Station industry.”
Some of the courses utilizing the MCI pump stations values are: Tiger Woods Design Course at Diamante in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; Secession Golf Club in Beaufort, SC; The National Golf Club of Canada; Bayview Golf and Country Club in Canada; TPC Cottonwood in Irving, TX, to name a few.
OnLink and MCI’s initial integration course is at the Seccession Golf Club in Beaufort, SC where Mark Mitchell is the Golf Course Superintendent. “Secession chose MCI because of their commitment to customer service. In particular, their desire to tailor our pump station to fit our needs. We are very happy with the results so far. My team utilizes all the tools available on the MCI monitoring control panel, and we look forward to utilizing the OnLink platform to monitor our pump station, and use the data to better maximize watering efficiencies, lower costs and increase course quality.”
The MCI data available on the OnLink platform enhances our mutual customer experiences and provides the actionable analytics that will cut down costs and drive consistent results. The combined values of this strategic partnership allow superintendents to optimize water and energy usage, correlate optimal playing conditions with water usage, and conserve water and energy, saving both time and money while improving turf health and playing conditions.
